Where does your beef come from?
There are many steps involved in putting beef on the shelf and naturally, costs are incurred at every point in the process. Take beef for example. Nearly two thirds of the cost of beef is spent before it reaches our stores.
Our share of total domestic production
Australian farmers produce food for export to other countries, as well as for Australian retailers, wholesalers, manufacturers and food service businesses. When you take all this into account, Woolworths' share of total production is relatively small.
